Schedule Patch Sewing Services

Patch Sewing Services | Stacey Sansom Designs | Don't Skip a Step, Wash before services. Don't be gross.

Stacey Sansom Designs takes in Patch Sewing Services every week. Some exclusions apply. Certain times of the year are very busy with providing local school concerts, parties, and dances. Item return for items submitted for patch sewing services may be longer during these periods.

Contact Stacey directly if the calendar does not have a suitable drop-off time; one can be arranged. Most of these appointments are drop-and-go and do not require the full-time allotment.

Please see all item preparation requirements before scheduling a drop-off appointment.

This will confirm your appointment.

These images are for assessment and placement purposes only. I am not a mind reader, you have to show me where things go. I will not remember exactly where they go, I receive lots of orders for patches.

The item(s) Without Patches

Please include a front and back picture of the item(s) getting patches. This is to identify any potential problems or obstacles, such as pockets, fasteners, etc.

Placement of all Patches

Please include front and back view with the sleeves straight out with all patches laid out where you want them. You only need to include the places where patches are going.

Also include any additional views, such as sleeves if needed to show placement of patches.

Include Specific Requirements

If your garment/item has very precise patch placement such as military, scouting, or first responders include a link to or a picture of these guidelines that include measurements.

Drop-Off Preparation

These requirements are for all items brought to Stacey Sansom Designs for PATCH SEWING SERVICES.

All items MUST BE:

  • CLEAN
NO smoke. NO pet dander or fur/hair. NO strong scents from detergents, fabric softeners, or essential oils. NO DIRTY BODY FUNK. NO EXCEPTIONS!!! Don’t be gross!
  • ACCOMPANIED BY A DROP-OFF FORM
This drop-off form is completed at the time of drop-off and ensures that all items submitted for patch sewing services get back to their owners.
  • BAGGED OR BOXED
Please bag your items together before dropping off for patch sewing services. If multiple items with identical placement, these can all be bagged together. If patches only apply to certain garments, these should be bagged separately with their all appropriate patches.

Prohibited Items

Unfortunately, Stacey Sansom Designs cannot provide patch sewing services on all items. The studio is not equipped to accommodate some items. This is not personal; our equipment is not suitable for these items properly. Some exceptions do apply.

  • NO COATS OR HEAVY JACKETS
I am not equipped to handle the bulk of coats and heavy jackets. Some lightweight jackets are allowed. Please send a message with pictures for clarification or approval on all jackets.
  • NO LETTERMAN JACKETS
I am not equipped to handle the leather or vinyl sleeves of the jacket. Other locations are negotiable if the lining zips open for easy access. Please send a message with pictures for clarification or approval.
  • NO HARD BASEBALL CAPS
It is hard to manipulate the harder baseball caps on small machines. A soft, flexible hat is acceptable. Please reach out for item approval for patch sewing on these items.

A seamstress can touch multiple parts of a garment to attach a patch when providing patch sewing services. Garments must be manipulated flat in this process. This may require holding or pulling other parts of the garment. When on the machine, these items are also located in proximity to the face (usually closer than you are to your laptop or computer), making strong smells obvious and body funk unbearable. DO NOT BE GROSS! Please wash or clean beforehand.

Some strong smells can come back upon heat application. If your garment has this happen, you will not be penalized if efforts are otherwise made. These smells are not present until heat has been applied. All athletic wear should be stripped regularly during washing to remove foul odors. You will receive instructions with your garment on how to remove the deeply embedded smells from the garment. Most patch sewing services will not use heat application, but may if accompanied by a repair or alteration.

Most importantly, these body odors, oils, and funk can cause undue build up inside of machines while rendering patch sewing services because the needle punctures the garment and goes down into the machine. All machines have holes in them for gunk to fall into. Just clean your stuff!
