Stacey Sansom’s Experience
2003 Work in the website design and graphic design industries began in early 2003, when Stacey Sansom became a founding partner of Inventive Site Strategies, Inc.May 2008 Stacey Sansom earned her Associate of Arts degree from Lone Star College–Tomball. She attended three campuses in the Lone Star College system: Tomball, Kingwood, and North Harris, but graduated from the Tomball campus. She was an active member of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society (Alpha Alpha Rho chapter) on the North Harris campus and served 3 years in an organizational leadership capacity.2009 When Inventive Site Strategies, Inc. was mutually dissolved in mid-2009, Stacey Sansom saw this as an opportunity to break off on her own and has not looked back. The remaining website design, hosting, and graphic design customers were transferred to her workload.September 2018 Family has been the focus of Stacey Sansom’s life. The youngest boy was entering high school, and she enrolled in the BYU Pathway Worldwide program. This allowed her to once again work toward finishing her degree. She officially enrolled in BYU-Idaho in 2019.December 2022 She earned the Apparel Design and Construction Certificate from BYU-Idaho.April 2024 Stacey Sansom earned her second Associate degree. She completed an Associate of Applied Science in Professional Studies. She also earned the Graphic Design Fundamentals Certificate from BYU-Idaho.July 2024 Finally, after a long 30-year higher educational journey, she earned her Bachelor of Science in Professional Studies from BYU-Idaho. She set the goal to complete this stretch with a 4.0 GPA, and that is exactly what she accomplished.A Change of Industry
2016 In 2016, she moved to Little Elm, Texas (from Tomball, Texas) with her family (husband and 3 boys). With no local word-of-mouth client base, a change was needed to keep the business open. Stacey Sansom began reducing web design services. Today, these are offered on a case-by-case basis.Wanting a new creative outlet, she began branching out into other creative arts, offering a wider range of graphic design services for small businesses. However, with a new potential client pool, she began exploring a wide variety of options.
Stacey Sansom began sewing when she was roughly 10 years old, but her interest and activity increased in 2001, when she added quilting to her already extensive hobby list. Initially, she was trained by her mother, a master seamstress. She also watched her older sister, Ann, the owner of Elegant and Stitchable Answers (located in Alvin, Texas). She has developed a wide range of sewing skills over the years.
Offering New Products & Services
2017 In 2017, Stacey Sansom launched her first fabric line. This project was several years in the making. With the help of a local Dallas company, she was able to provide my custom-designed fabrics to the public. These were available in over 21 different fabric types at any given time. As a print-on-demand designer, all yardage was available in cuts exactly the size you need on the fabrics you want. Sadly, this company closed its doors suddenly. She is still working to rebuild this fabric line (and more) at Spoonflower.com. Some independent designs from this line are already available today.2018 In 2018, Stacey Sansom Designs began offering small-run manufacturing to other small businesses needing sewn products produced for their own businesses. Many small-run facilities do not fill orders smaller than 300-500 items. Stacey Sansom decided to cater to the smaller business demographics. She takes orders as small as 5 at a time, allowing smaller businesses to get products to market more affordably. Who knew that the mom of all boys would be making dresses for little girls?2018 Based on demand, she started offering other sewing services to the community. This included minor alterations, hems, and patch sewing services. Services have expanded to include a broad range of alteration and fitting services, not just basic take-ins and hems.Other Tidbits of Information
Spare Time When she is not busy designing, she can be found spending time with her husband (since 1998), 3 adult children (all boys), and grandchildren.Volunteer Work She is an active participant in her church and community, and has filled leadership positions for the older boys High School Orchestra Booster Club. In addition to this, volunteer positions (past & current) include family history consultant (and teacher), quilting specialist, assistant librarian, activity planning board member, communications coordinator, and she has also served in leadership positions for both Scouts and Cub Scouts. In 2022-2023, she served as a voting board member for the Saint Arbor Community Garden.About the boys While her children are all adults now, she still draws great joy in watching them continue to grow and mature. The oldest and his wife have started the grandparent adventures, which we are loving.Hobbies Stacey Sansom is an avid reader and enjoys reading a range of genres. Her favorite is 19th-century British literature, except for Dickens. She can be found reading technical manuals frequently (or similar types of writing), learning new things, and expanding current skills. She is driven by continuous learning. If she is not in the sewing room, you are likely to find her in the backyard garden. She took up gardening in 2020 and has not looked back. She is proof that even serial plant killers can turn those black thumbs very green. Change came as the result of many dead plants, deep research, and a lot of blood (literal), sweat (it is Texas after all), and tears.
In her free time, you can also find her baking, quilting, sewing, knitting, crocheting, or doing other crafty and creative things. You might even discover her working on her next book. Be sure to check out her first book on Amazon.
